About
Built by someone who carries the only copy.
Olycen is made by Onur Thornfield, a working director of photography, under EgeTech.
Why it exists
On a shoot, the footage on a card exists once until it is copied and proven. The tools that copy it are either simple and leave the rest of the chain to other software, or large and sold as yearly subscriptions. Olycen is built for the space between: verified offload, ASC MHL, reports and delivery in one app you buy once.
How it is built
- It never claims more than it measured. Copied and verified are shown as two separate numbers.
- It works offline. The licence is a signed file; there is no account and no telemetry in the app.
- It was tested on real sets. Working DITs used Olycen in the field during the closed beta, and their reports shaped the 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 fixes.
- It uses open formats. ASC MHL and ordinary PDF, CSV and ALE reports mean nobody needs Olycen to check the footage later.
The product principles are on the features page; the price and licence are on pricing.
